On Monday 15th April, Clarkson Community High School’s Year 9 Specialist League Rugby Squad competed in the Champion Schools’ Carnival at Charles Riley Reserve, North Beach.

The CCHS team displayed outstanding rugby league and personal skills throughout the day.  The sense of commitment and responsibility shown by the boys in the way they approached the contest, treated the officials and their opponents and maintained their team area was fantastic to see.  Our boys were a credit to themselves, their families and our school being first to assist in the clean up and pack up after the competition and being faultless in the courtesy and respect displayed all day.

The team remained undefeated after six games and are the overall champions!  Special mention must go to Te Wheoro (Fedz) Jones for the exceptional team spirit and drive he displayed on the day, coaching and supporting his team mates.  Jesse Leach was the stand-out player of the day, closely followed by Callum Botica, with five tries scored and Harrison Wright who worked tirelessly all day.  Captain Amos Manu also had an outstanding day despite going into the competition carrying soreness.

We are very proud of you boys for your performance on and off the field and hope to see the same dedication shine through in your school work too!

Well done!
