Parent/Teacher Interview Booking System

Designed for simplicity, the Parent/Teacher booking system provides a facility for parents to book their interviews online

Parents

Parents can access the system at any time, day or night. They have no codes or pin numbers to remember, and a series of simple screens and prompts to assist them to make their interview bookings. Parents will feel empowered as they interact directly with the live system - selecting the teachers they wish to see and time slots that are both convenient and suitable.

Staff

Teaching staff may, if they wish, visit the site to block out interview slots for which they will be unavailable, select particular year levels they teach, or to check which parents have requested interviews. All of these are however optional. The system will operate entirely independent of the teaching staff if necessary. Lists of interviews as booked by parents can be provided by your administrator.

Setup

We have designed this process to be as simple and painless as possible. The only data to load is a list of teaching staff, and if you are already using another SOBS application then the staff are already loaded. Lastly the system needs to know what year levels each staff member teaches - you can enter this information on one screen or have the staff login to do this themselves.

The parent interface has been designed to operate from within an iframe - you can place this iframe on a page in your school website so the entire application looks as though you wrote it. There are brownie points in store here, the parents will love this system and you know they are going to tell the principal!

Controlled access

When adding an interview round you are also prompted to enter access times for staff and parents. You might allow staff to access the round a week prior to parents, giving staff time to mark their availability or unavailability for the various interview slots. Similarly you define the date and time that parents are allowed to access the system and also the final date and time they can record interviews. This allows you time to print the final interview list before the chaos everybody starts arriving.

Reports

Parents can request a list of their own interviews either via email or for printing. Staff have a similar ability with regard to their own interviews. As the administrator you have access to print two lists including all interviews in date/time order. The first list is grouped by Staff member, so you can provide each staff member with their list of interviews. The second list is grouped by Parent and is used to assist parents who have forgotten to bring their own interview list.
