Student Councillor ICORT Assembly - 4 July 2019

At CCHS, the school leadership team decided that teachers should not only model Invitational Education leadership but explicitly teach both the theory and its practice. The school leadership team chose two big ideas to share with all students. First, everyone learned the focus on I—CORT. Also, everyone learned a metaphor from Invitational Education based on the IE starfish with each limb representing the 5 domains in school: people, places, policies, programs and processes.
The aim was to have Clarkson flourish as an invitational school. This was a bid to reduce the strategy to execution gap as teachers believed students were mature enough to understand and, in turn, assume the invitational stance. The thinking was because kids know how a rainbow works doesn’t make it less special.

A big thank you to all who donated to the Salvo's Winter Appeal. Our Community Services class was thrilled to collect three large boxes of donations including food, clothing and toiletries.

Clarkson Has Talent Is Back!
Our annual performance showcase Clarkson Has Talent returns next Tuesday night as we celebrate some of the amazing talent developed at Clarkson Community High School.
The Salvation Army Winter Appeal
The following is a message from the Certificate II Community Services class:
"The Certificate II Community Services class will be running the Salvation Army Winter Appeal during term two.
The Salvation Army is in our neighbourhood (in Merriwa) so donations would go to local people who really need the help. Donations of blankets, sleeping bags and warm outdoor clothing may be sent to Northbridge, where people sleeping outside will be needing those things.
This flyer will show you the kinds of things that would be good to donate. This year there will be three places to bring donations: Student Services; the Library; and Home Ec. (in case the library is closed).
Thank you for your attention. We hope everyone at Clarkson Community High School will donate to the Salvation Army Winter Appeal.

Join the 90% Club and Win!
Prizes include cash, canteen vouchers and iTunes/Gift cards!
Each student with 90% and above will be entered into a weekly raffle draw held on Monday mornings. The winners will be displayed on the Student Services noticeboard and the prize presented in CARE.
In addition, at the end of each term there will be a major individual prize draw for the CARE group with the most 90%ers.
