Welcome to Clarkson Community High School

Clarkson Community High School is a proud Independent Public School with a focus on “high care, high expectations”.  Our school community empowers students to build the confidence, values and skills as lifelong learners, to achieve their personal best for a successful future.

High quality teaching, a positive and orderly learning environment, and family partnerships are critical to student success. We offer a caring and supporting environment that meets the learning needs and aspirations of our students, recognising that success means different things for different students. We value and encourage student voice and support students to drive positive change within the school.

As a Community High School, we highly value our connections with our local primary schools, and with the community more broadly, to ensure that our students experience a smooth transition into high school and a strong sense of connection to our school and to their community. We are driven by our shared values: Care, Optimism, Respect and Trust.

As the Principal of Clarkson Community High School, I invite you to contact our dedicated staff to discuss how we can work together to ensure your child flourishes and achieves success.

I acknowledge the Wadjak Noongar people and the Country that our school stands on. We pay our respects to their Elders – past, present and emerging – and recognise their ongoing connection to water, land and community.

Leah Crawford, Principal

Photos from Clarkson Community High School's post Year 8 Camp | Day 3 Recap 🌧️💙
As our three-day Year 8 camp at Wadjemup (Rottnest Island) came to an end, students began the final day by packing up their dorms, cleaning the camp facilities and making one last rainy walk back to the village before boarding the ferry home.
Before departing the island, students took part in a final reflection session, sharing what they had gained from their camp experience and the moments that had made the biggest impact.
Students reflected on unexpected friendships, the trust and connections they had developed within their platoons, and the moments where they had challenged themselves in ways they hadn't expected.
It was wonderful to hear students recognise their own growth and the positive impact they had on one another throughout the camp. From stepping outside their comfort zones to supporting their teammates and embracing new experiences, our Year 8s showed resilience, courage and a willingness to give things a go.
A fitting way to finish three unforgettable days of adventure, teamwork, growth and connection! 🌊🚲💙

As we wrapped up our three-day Year 7 camp at Wadjemup (Rottnest Island), students took time to reflect on an incredible few days filled with adventure, challenges, friendship and personal growth.
Together with our Principal, Mrs Crawford, AIEO Vanessa and Deputy Principal Mr Bateman, students shared their experiences, challenges and achievements from across the camp. It was a meaningful and insightful session, providing students with an opportunity to celebrate their successes, reflect on the challenges they had overcome, and recognise just how much they had grown.
Throughout the camp, our Year 7s showed incredible resilience, confidence and teamwork. They embraced new experiences, supported one another, stepped outside their comfort zones and gave every challenge their best.
We are incredibly proud of the way our students embraced the spirit of camp and everything it had to offer.

Day 2 was packed with adventure, discovery and plenty of memorable moments as our Year 7 students explored more of beautiful Wadjemup (Rottnest Island)!
Students split into three groups for the day's bike and walk adventure. One group stayed in town, enjoying a round of mini golf and exploring the local sights. Another group cycled halfway around the island, tackling some unexpected off-road sections thanks to Miss Markovic's adventurous navigation! Meanwhile, our third group embraced the ultimate challenge, completing the full 28.5 km loop around Wadjemup.
Students also took part in the Prisoners and Pioneers tour, gaining valuable insight into Wadjemup's rich and complex history. The experience encouraged students to reflect on the island's cultural significance while learning more about its past.
The fun continued into the evening with a movie night, a walk up to the Battery, and plenty of laughter during Platoons Got Talent. The Storytime performances had everyone entertained, delivering some of the funniest moments of the entire camp!
It was another fantastic day filled with adventure, learning, teamwork and unforgettable memories as our Year 7 camp continued. 🌊🚲🎬
