Welcome to Clarkson Community High School

Clarkson Community High School is a proud Independent Public School with a focus on “high care, high expectations”.  Our school community empowers students to build the confidence, values and skills as lifelong learners, to achieve their personal best for a successful future.

High quality teaching, a positive and orderly learning environment, and family partnerships are critical to student success. We offer a caring and supporting environment that meets the learning needs and aspirations of our students, recognising that success means different things for different students. We value and encourage student voice and support students to drive positive change within the school.

As a Community High School, we highly value our connections with our local primary schools, and with the community more broadly, to ensure that our students experience a smooth transition into high school and a strong sense of connection to our school and to their community. We are driven by our shared values: Care, Optimism, Respect and Trust.

As the Principal of Clarkson Community High School, I invite you to contact our dedicated staff to discuss how we can work together to ensure your child flourishes and achieves success.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work, the Whadjuk Noongar people, and pay my respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging. I further acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have nurtured and educated children on this land for thousands of years.

Leah Crawford, Principal

Photos from Clarkson Community High School's post Last Thursday, students from Somerly, Clarkson, and Merriwa Primary Schools took part in the Clarkson Challenge - STEM 2025!
They worked in groups to build a fractal tree and explored the fascinating world of fractals in nature, film, animation, and video games. Students also created their own stop-motion animations using Microsoft PowerPoint and learned about the six Noongar seasons.
It was a brilliant blend of STEM, creativity, and culture, and the students all had a fantastic day while learning practical STEM skills. 🌿🎬💡

Photos from Clarkson Community High School's post At the end of Term 2, our Year 7 students returned to their former primary schools to share their experiences of settling into high school and the subjects they’re enjoying.
Year 5 and 6 students from our contributing schools—Somerly, Clarkson, and Merriwa Primary schools —asked thoughtful questions like, "What happens if you get in trouble?" and "How much homework do you get?"
Our Year 7's proudly assured them that Clarkson is a great school with plenty of exciting learning opportunities.
After the assembly, everyone headed to the oval where Mr Benn and his rugby students ran a range of fun, fast-paced rugby games for all to enjoy!
