About 100 Clarkson students enjoyed a carnival atmosphere at school recently as a reward for high attendance levels.

Clarkson Community High School Damien Croxford said students who had achieved a 97 per cent attendance rate or higher, participated in the carnival as part of the ‘It all starts at school’ program.

Mr Croxford said there were a number of different activities on the day, with visitors from the WA Football League, Perth Heat baseball club and AMF Bowling, as well as a barbecue and sumo suit wrestling.

“Since the program has been going, we’ve seen quite a significant improvement in regular attendance,” he said.

Mr Croxford said the program had had a positive influence on Year 8 and 10 and indigenous students.
