It's Science Week, and today we ran our annual STEM event for our local primary schools called The Clarkson Challenge.
This year the theme was "Minecraft Sustainable Cities". Teams of students from Clarkson, Merriwa and Somerly Primary Schools came to learn about what makes a sustainable city, then designed and built their cities in their own Minecraft worlds.
Each team presented their cities to a panel of judges, and the winning team won free tickets to Sci-Tech, and the Clarkson Challenge trophy!
Judges said it was a very close call as all teams put in a fantastic effort, but there has to be a winner. Congratulations to "Team Green Plan" from Clarkson Primary School!
CCHS would like to thank all visiting students for their very impressive skills and hard work today, their teachers and support staff for coming along to help, parents for coming to see the presentations, CCHS staff and judges, and Y11 Student Councillor Declan Holdsworth for being our Minecraft support expert.
It was a fantastic day and we hope to see you all at Clarkson next year!
