In the past there have been a fair few negative comments made about Clarkson Community High School and the students who attend here, but today I am very proud to say that, once again, our students have proved the naysayers wrong.

A bit of background information: I have heard a number of rumours about some other schools laptop programs suffering from a high degree of damage with many machines being written off due to poor quality equipment or wanton destruction. Many people thought that handing out premium laptops to our students was just asking for trouble as they would never look after them properly. However, I had faith in our students and begged to differ.... and I am glad I did.

Our 2011 Year 12s were the pioneers of our CORE Macbook Program, being the first year group to receive and, after graduating, hand back their laptops. I am very proud to say that they did an excellent job of caring for their machines, handing them back in pristine condition with only one or two minor issues out of around a hundred. Our current Year 9 students, who will be receiving these laptops later this term, will be very glad that the Year 12s did a fantastic job of caring for their machines.

This just goes to show that Clarkson Community High School really is a good school with good students doing great things. Well done to our graduating Year 12s and good luck in your future endeavors.

We are all very proud indeed.
