Three players from the Clarkson Year 9/10 Rugby League Academy have made their school form count on the representative field by making the WA Rugby League Under 15's State Schoolboys side. Club coaches and selectors recognised a significant improvement in core skills and fitness levels of all students from Specialist Schools.
On Monday 15th April, Clarkson Community High School’s Year 9 Specialist League Rugby Squad competed in the Champion Schools’ Carnival at Charles Riley Reserve, North Beach.
The CCHS team displayed outstanding rugby league and personal skills throughout the day. The sense of commitment and responsibility shown by the boys in the way they approached the contest, treated the officials and their opponents and maintained their team area was fantastic to see. Our boys were a credit to themselves, their families and our school being first to assist in the clean up and pack up after the competition and being faultless in the courtesy and respect displayed all day.
Dear parents and students. Please be advised we are running after-school homework/support classes on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3.15 to 4.00pm in the Science Seminar room. All students who would like support with their studies are invited to attend.
On Thursday 21st March a small band of Year 8 students took the field at Curtin University to play their first ever rugby league game for the school. Despite never having played as a team, and in some cases never having played the game before, they won!
Parents and students please note changes to our end-of-day TransPerth bus leaving times on routes 481, 482 and 483.

The game was the first of the season for the Pirates and the Combined Specialist Schoolboy's squads and was played as a curtain raiser for the seniors game. A FIREFIGHTER, emergency services volunteer, horse-riding teacher and leader at her school, Katie Napier wears many hats for her list of voluntary and leadership roles.
The 17-year-old Butler resident's contributions to the community earned her the youth award at the City of Wanneroo's Australia Day celebrations. Katie joined the Quinns Rocks Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade as a 12-year-old with her sister and brother and within weeks she had also signed up to the Clarkson Emergency Services and the St John Ambulance cadet units.
Clarkson students promoted National Recycling Week recently with a focus on school-based recycling projects. Learning centre co-ordinator Alison Nolan said the cadets did all the school’s paper recycling as well as the composting and worm farm in the school garden. Almost 90 Clarkson Community High School students have been involved in the Bushranger Cadets Unit, which participated in awareness week from November 12 to 18. Planet Ark encourages students to go green through participating in various school recycling activities.
